Why not come to Whilton Locks Garden Village and meet the animals with one of our fabulous Cuddle Sessions?

It’s super fun for all ages – do you fancy a scary spider or something more cuddly? As part of our commitment to ensure our site welcomes everyone, this event is part of our SEN-sations initiative and is specifically tailored for SEN (of all ages) with low numbers, low sounds and extra care where you and your SEN require it.

There’s a drink of squash for the children and a regular coffee or tea for the adults, included – and it’s a fully hands-on, fun event.
Cuddle sessions cost £6.99, per SEN Participant.
SEN Carer (HALF PRICE) £2.49
£6.99 for additional children, family members, for instance.
£4.99 accompanying Adult/Guardian.

Ice Skating at Whilton Locks Garden Village - Terms and Conditions & Rules

Sessions start promptly on the hour and last 45 minutes. After each session we prepare the ice rink for the next slot, this can take up to 15 minutes. Late arrivals will leave the ice with the rest of the group.

Ice Rink Safety Information and Good Skating Practice
We request that gloves are worn. Gloves are STRONGLY recommended in the ice skating area, including (but not limited to) the boot change area and on the ice.
Keep a safe distance between people that are not within your party.
Put your skates on in the skate change area.
Skates are to be worn on the ice, in the boot change area and on the matting ONLY.
Ensure your skates are fitted correctly, wear suitable attire for an outdoor skate including socks and gloves. Please note socks must be worn.
Do not go on the ice without skates or ice grippers (which have to be worn over suitable footwear).
Obey skating marshals/management.
Skate in one direction only, do not cut across the centre of the rink.
Do not skate in chains. (Please do not hold other people’s hands.)
Do not carry children and infants.
Do not climb on the barriers, they are there for your safety.
Do not take bags, valuables, phones or cameras on the ice. Belongings are left at your own risk.
Look after your polar bear, seal, whale, penguin or banana.
Do not eat, drink or chew on the ice.

Please keep away from the ice area when resurfacing is taking place.
Report any accidents to a member of staff.

Anti-social behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated and those responsible will be asked to leave the rink with no refund given.

Government Guidelines relating to COVID-19 must be adhered to at all times. We reserve the right to refuse entry to this event, if the government guidelines are not adhered to.

ALL SKATERS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY SKATE AT THEIR OWN RISK.
All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied on to the ice by a responsible adult (18 years old and above) in skates (or grippers). Maximum of 4 children per adult. We recommend that all children under the age of 12 are accompanied by an adult at the rink side (the adult need not be skating).

Exceptional Weather Conditions
The ice rink is open come rain or shine. Please dress according to the weather conditions on the day. All Participants must wear gloves and all skaters must wear socks. (Our rink is fully undercover). Climatic conditions may cause a layer of water on the ice surface, this will not affect your skating and does not make it unsafe to skate. Although you may get wet if you fall over.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
If booked online or via telephone, your place is reserved and therefore cancellations cannot be accepted less than 72 hours in advance. All our event tickets are non-refundable. Please make sure that you select the correct date and time for your booking on your desired day. Please note that if you need to reschedule your booking, there will be a £5 administration fee to make any changes to the booking, subject to availability. To reschedule your booking, you can either send a written request via email to Christmas@wlgv.co.uk or phone one of the events team on 01327 843100 with the Booking Details no later than 72 hours before your event is due to start. We require the following; Booking Name, Order Number and Contact Details, please ensure you have these details available when making the phone call or when sending the email to ensure no delays occur.

To ensure our Ice Rink Skating Staff give their full attention to customers arriving to prepare for their skating session, and to avoid mistakes, cancellations cannot be authorised at the check-in desk or anywhere on site. Any reasonable claims will only be considered if made in writing to christmas@wlgv.co.uk. We are sure you appreciate that attempting to deal with reasonable requests in any other way during this very busy time of year may result in errors or misunderstandings.

All Events
Our events start promptly, please ensure that you arrive on time.
For Ice Skating, please arrive 15 minutes before your session is due to start to enable the boot change process.
For Santa’s magical grotto, please join the queue area only at your booking time (i.e. please do not queue at 12:00 if you are booked at 12:10).
Please ensure that when booking multiple events, you do not have any events that run at the same time. Please make sure you leave yourself plenty of time between events.

Food Events
We need to be notified of any special dietary requirements, intolerances and allergies in advance. Please note that all our food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts, cereals containing gluten and other allergens are present. If you have a food allergy or intolerance please let us know before ordering/booking. Full allergen information for food and drink is available upon request.
